Getting Started Text File

When you click the **<Finish> button**, the program will start for the first time. Since this is the first time that the program has been run, a special panel will open up with the contents of the **‘Getting Started’ text file** displayed. This file contains information on using the program for first time users. You can read the file now, if you wish, or press **<Close>** to continue with the program. The Getting Started file can be viewed anytime later by choosing the **"Getting Started’ option** from the DataHush **‘Help’ menu**.

Choose the **‘Tools-User Manager’** option to start the user manager.

User Manager

This option allows you to **add, edit and delete userIDs** on the system. To add a new user, click on the **<Add New> button**.

The **‘Add User’ screen** will appear. During initial installation, you should add a user ID for yourself. This should be the ID that you normally use to log on to the system. The **Administrator ID should be reserved for administration tasks**.

The Add User screen

In the **‘Add User’ screen**, choose a single word as a **userID**. A popular way to assign usersIDs is to take the first letter of the persons name and the first seven letters of their last name. Once you have chosen an appropriate user ID, enter their information in the fields supplied. You must also **assign a password** at this time.

The user information that you enter must be appropriate, or the program will not add the user ID. For instance, the password must be assigned correctly or the following error message will appear:

Once valid information has been entered for the new user, the userID is added to the system and the following message will appear.
